DVOC Field Trip Report
May 7, 2006 (Sunday)
Fort Washington State Park
Leader: Bill Murphy
The DVOC field trip to Fort Washington State Park was great. We had good weather and an excellent fall out of migrants. We encountered large flocks of warblers as we walked along the ridge road and we continued to run into flocks when we crossed Joshua Road, where viewing was easier and most participants got to see some warblers. In total we had sixteen species of warblers.
Highlights were 3 Hooded, Canada, Blackburnian, Worm-eating and Nashville Warblers. We also had Swainson's Thrush and a good turn out of people who could hear.
