Two DVOC Teams to Participate in New Jersey Audubon’s World Series of Birding

For 2019, The Delaware Valley Ornithological Club will be represented by two teams in New Jersey Audubon’s World Series of Birding. Sudden Stops and Terns (SST) will be a youth team, and Ridin’ Birdy (RB) will be an adult team. Both teams will be competing using human power. SST using a Surrey and focusing on Cape Island, and RB on bicycles riding between Heislverville and Cape May Point.

Suddent Stops and Terns is: Elliot Dziedzic, Nancy Armstrong and Team Captain, Victoria Sindlinger. Ridin’ Birdy consists of Katrina Rakowski, Jeff Gordon, Bull Gervasi, Matthew Halley and Team Captain Tony Croasdale. Josh Robeson will ride with the team as their mechanic.

The teams will be raising funds to support DVOC’s BirdPhilly program. BirdPhilly is a collaboration with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the Free Library of Philadelphia that makes birding accessible by providing: lending binoculars and guides, free walks, lectures and field trips for schools.

Flat donations are great, or you can pledge to donate $1-$3 per bird.
