Carrizal Blue-black Seedeater

nDiscovered on Island of Carrizal in Eastern Venezuela in 2003.
nHabitat – impenetrable spiny bamboo vegetation near the Caroni river area in the Orinoco basin.
nBill is larger than the other similar finches; male is dull greyish- blue; female is brownish, no description of call was noted in literature.
nOnly 3 birds were collected – total population unknown.
