 r\, providing crucial habitat for migrants and the odd rarity. The flats a
 t the confluence of Pennypack Creek and the Delaware frequently host gulls
  and shorebirds.\n\nLet's meet at the covered picnic area (GPS: 40.0277033
 \, -75.012093). We'll walk around 1.5 miles on a mix of paved and dirt tra
 ils. If the tide is low enough\, we'll likely check out the mud flats\, wh
 ich requires a very short off-trail excursion. Dress for weather.\n\nNo b
 inoculars? No worries! Birding backpacks with binoculars and field guides 
 are on loan at all Philly Free Library branches.\n\nThe event is free and
