Birds came into my life rather abruptly a few years ago, and since that time they have assumed a ridiculous amount of control over my decision-making processes. The latest decision that they influenced was the decision to quit my job and enroll in an Environmental Studies Master's program with a concentration in conservation biology at Upenn. With this degree, I hope to engage in research and projects that promote bird conservation and that help connect people to the natural world. I moved to Philly to start my studies in August of 2021. I have enjoyed getting to know the parks, birds, and birders of the city. My favorite places to bird have been the John Heinz Wildlife Refuge, Pennypack on the Delaware, and Benjamin Rush State Park. I am looking forward to getting more involved with the birding community!
