Positions and Achievements
I have been birding for 20 years. I lived in South Florida for many years and became spoiled by the accessibility of so many amazing birds. It was not at all unusual to have painted buntings and spot-breasted orioles at my yard feeders, and crested caracaras and wood storks just a short drive away from home. But since moving to Philly, I have learned to appreciate the patience it takes to be a birder in all seasons. I work in Center City and love the surprising variety of birds I can see on lunchtime walks around Independence National Historical Park. I also hike around NW Philly, especially Cresheim Creek & Carpenters Woods.
