Event Type

Come on out and enjoy spring migration at Awbury Arboretum. Awbury is a 55 acre privately owned arboretum in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Over 150 species have been recorded at this little gem. The arboretum is a nice patch of green space in an area of dense housing and functions as a migrant trap attracting a great mix of birds and often giving excellent views of warblers and more.  We will be starting out at 6:00 am and finishing by late morning.  Parking at the arboretum is rather limited, so we will be meeting on Ardleigh Street directly opposite Awbury Recreation Center.  There is ample street parking available in this location.

Our birding backpacks (including binoculars and field guide) are currently only available for loan at Andorra, Logan and Richmond libraries due to the pandemic. For details regarding the lending process and other questions, please reach out to birdphillywalks@gmail.com.
