We will look for terns in “the rips” off of Cape May Point, along the beach where they roost and in and around Bunker Pond at Cape May State Park (lighthouse). This is the time of year when Black Terns and even rarer terns can show up amongst the Forster’s, Common and Royal terns. We will also walk the trails from the State Park over to the Nature Conservancy “Meadows” in search of terns and shorebirds. Bring a scope if you have one and insect repellent. Wear a hat and sunblocking shirt.
This trip follows the Higbee walk for migrants. Feel free to register for both.
