Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge
800 Great Creek Rd, Oceanville, NJ

Event Type

Sorry gang but water levels are too high for this trip. No mud flats and no birds reported on a scouting trip earlier this week.

We will explore “Brig” looking for shorebirds, gulls and other migrants by driving the wildlife loop. We will make stops along the drive where we have good views of shorebirds that use this WMA as a stopover on their way south. This is a great time to study plumage differences of Dunlin, Sandpipers, Plovers and find a rarity. Bring a scope if you have one. We will share scopes if possible (according to CDC guidelines). Bug repellent, sunscreen, hat and sunshirt are a must. Bring plenty of water and snacks too. Meet at the main parking lot.
