One of the healthiest meadows in West Philly in terms of native grasses, which has historically been a magnet for grassland birds during autumn. The woods here also offer a decent respite for arboreal songbirds during migration. The tidal river can also sometimes yield shorebirds and fun ducks. This park is tiny but mighty! Let’s meet in the parking roundabout. Binoculars available for borrow.

Free and welcome for all birding levels.

No binoculars? No worries! Birding backpacks with binoculars and field guides are on loan at the following local Philly libraries: Andorra, Cobbs Creek, Cecil B. Moore, Chestnut Hill, Eastwick, Falls of Schuylkill, Fishtown, Fox Chase, Greater Olney, Independence Library, Logan, Lovett Memorial, Northeast Regional, Oak Lane, Parkway Central, Richmond, South Philly, Torresdale, West Philadelphia Regional, and Widener.
