Belleplain State Forest is the southern end of the pine barrens. The area is great for early spring migrants as well as breeding birds including Summer Tanager, Prothonotary, Worm-eating and Hooded warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush and Ovenbirds. We will drive to various spots in the park and make short walks. Bring water.
Perhaps finish with a stop at the Sumner Ave. Pee Fields and/or Jake’s Landing
TRAFFIC NOTE – the bridge at Dennisville lake, south of Belleplain is out. Detour is in effect. Please plan accordingly if joining from south of Belleplain.
