James Bond, The Birds of the West Indies, and Beyond

The Presentation: With the latest 007 movie expected later this Fall, Jim Wright,  the author of “The Real James Bond,” will give an illustrated talk about James Bond, the ornithologist, and his “Birds of the West Indies.”  And, Jim will provide some fascinating stories about the fictional James Bond created by Ian Fleming.  He will also talk about what he’s learned about the ornithologist Bond since the book came out last March. (Plus:  a recording of Jim Bond talking about birds, courtesy of Bert Filemyr and the DVOC.)

Jim Wright is a prize-winning writer, blogger, and longtime birding columnist for The Bergen Record in northern New Jersey He is the author of “Hawk Mountain” and many other books. In his spare time, he spies on birds. Read his blog at
