Kashi will present the latest and greatest updates on NJ’s primary beach-nesting bird species – Piping Plovers, Black Skimmers, Least Terns, and American Oystercatchers. Learn about recent population trends, research and tracking projects, and how climate change (especially sea-level rise) already is and will continue to impact these species.

Christina Davis (who goes by her nickname Kashi) is a biologist with the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife, where she has worked with beach-nesting birds for 20 years. She has an B.S in environmental studies from Stockton University and a M.Sc. in ecology and evolution from Rutgers University. She lives in Cape May, NJ with her husband Glen and their two sweet bunnies.
