Oh, you read that right. DVOC club member Tanya Burnett is living in Panama and wants to share her knowledge of the local hotspots with us.
First of its Kind Walk:
On January 17 at 7:00 am, Tanya Burnett will lead a walk at
Parque Natural Metropolitano. This slice of rainforest has been preserved within city limits. It has a species list of 428 (John Heinz has 307). In addition to fabulous birds, we may also see coati, sloth, agouti and monkeys.
Consider planning a trip with friends to experience the magical birding Panama has to offer. US Air offers a connecting flight through Miami and Copa has direct flights out of New Ark and BWI. Both are affordable when booked in advance.
Other bird outings will be planned in the area once there are confirmed participants. My goal is to help grow your life lists as cost effectively as possible.
Pipeline Road and
Summit Ponds are just two of the incredible hotspots within an hour of the city. I can also help people organize Eastern or Western Panama birding if you want to extend your stay.
