Heislerville WMA located in Cumberland County NJ along the bayshore is an excellent location to observe thousands of shorebirds as they stopover on their way to breeding grounds in the north. Several species of shorebirds amass in numbers with possibility to find a rarity such as Curlew Sandpiper which has been found here in recent years. Bring a camera as this is great for photography. Bring a scope if you have one. Bug repellent is a good idea. This trip is timed with high tide to maximize number of birds in the impoundments.
Meet at the shell parking lot on Matt’s Landing Rd. We will walk around the impoundments from there.
Rain date May 16th at 11 AM.
