Barb Bassett has lived in NJ almost all her life. She has always had a love for nature and the outdoors. She worked summers in Cape May, but the birding bug did not hit her until her two children started asking “what’s that bird?” After working for Campbell Soup in Research & Development for over 30 years, Barb semi-retired to form her own packaging consulting business. Recently, she fully retired. Barb is the Vice President & Program Director of the DVOC; Environmental Chair and Planning Board member at Cape May Point; volunteer naturalist for Cape May Bird Observatory, NJ Audubon, NJAS Young Birders Club; a member of the Gloucester County Nature Club; and one of the volunteer Spring Watch migration counters at Coral Ave in Cape May Point. She currently splits her time between Cape May Point and Clarksboro, NJ.
