The Chimney Swift: America’s Mystery Bird
Speaker: Scott BurnetI start off with the biology and a brief history in America of the Chimney Swift. I cover it’s historical nesting, and how the colonization of a new nation affected the species. I move on to modern conservation concerns, and eventually to methods to help the species, including (especially) the building of artificial towers as safe havens.

I have been birding for 52 years. I started when I was four. Currently, I am an Executive Board member and Habitat Committee Chairman for the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society. I am also a Board Member of the Leaser Lake Heritage Foundation, and a member of the City of Allentown’s Environmental Advisory Council.
