I started to be interested in birding through my dad, who took our family on day trips to Hawk Mountain. As an adult, I joined my sister (Linda Widdop) on local walks and started to learn more about bird identification. Those local walks blossomed into trips where we'd hit spring migrations and just grew from there. I'd consider myself an intermediate birder and enjoy being able to identify local birds by sight and sound. I've been to Central America and Ecuador on intense guided bird trips and have seem some amazing and unforgettable birds.
