I did some birding in Switzerland with my father. My grandfather started what is now the Swiss Ornithological Station in Sempach and my uncle was its 1st director (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Schifferli). In the US, I did research/teaching at the vet school for the last 32 years, just retired and have now more time for bird watching. I use Merlin , go mainly to John Heinz for birding.
