For the past 11 years, I have been a science teacher at the John Bartram High School. I teach Physical Science and Chemistry. I have always had backyard bird feeders. Last year I watched with my students the Franklin Institute Hawk cam. I watched a chick hatch and daily as they grew and flew away. I am a regular participant in the guided bird walks at the John Heinz Wildlife Refuge as a way to learn more about birds.
