My birding journey began when I was 6 years old. As a way to
strengthen our writing skills, my teacher, Mrs. Whiting, had the class
start the day by writing a sentence about a bird, and then coloring in
a picture of that bird. This instilled in me a life long love of
birding. Ever since then, I have continuously sought out birding
opportunities, whether close to home or while traveling, and always
have a pair of binoculars handy. Some of my favorite local birding
locations are the Woodlands Cemetery, Heinz, FDR Park, Batsto, Cape
May, Forsyth, LBI, and Fort Washington State Park.
