Positions and Achievements

I began birding when I was in college, having accidentally joined Wyncote Bird Club when I subscribed to Audubon magazine. Ruth Zumeta, Alice Fasy and Jean Jones took me under their collective wing and patiently mentored me as a fledgling birder (forgive the bad puns). I have since attended many field trips with Wyncote Audubon Society and DVOC to local birding spots. I especially enjoy birding along the Jersey shore and Delaware Bay, the Wissahickon Gorge area of Fairmount Park, Heinz Refuge, Dixon Meadows in Whitemarsh Township, and The Schuylkill Center, where I am an environmental educator. As a teacher of young children, I find great joy in helping kids discover the wonders of the natural world, especially birds.
