I started birding seriously in 1984 when I met fellow DVOCer, Jane Henderson, and we both joined Wyncote Audubon. Imagine my surprise when just 2 years later I found myself co-fieldtrip chair with Jane. It was a great learning experience because it revealed just how little I knew about birds. Still I was hooked and have never looked back. I still lead the occasional field trip for Wyncote, mostly to my favorite local hotspot - coastal Delaware- and still count among my best friends those people I met when I joined Wyncote.
In the past 20 years, I've birded mostly around the US with a few trips to Central America. I discovered I definitely love travelling and am looking forward to many more trips to come. Birding has led me also into a fascination with butterflies and membership in the North American Butterfly Association.
I joined the DVOC in 1995 and became a council member in 2002. In 2004 I became the archivist for the club and have become fascinated by the club's rich history.
