I have been a casual birder most of my life, although I lived out West for the last 15 years and got away from birding. My birding started in childhood mostly as a way to mock my parents' excitement over the backyard birds, but I fell for birds myself when I lived in DC. I'm very rusty and hope to get my identification skills back and finally to get serious about bird song as well.
