Positions and Achievements
Birding over 35 years, starting as a kid in Oregon. PhD in Urban Bird Conservation from the University of Texas at Austin (2008). Founding director of the Great Texas Birding Classic (1996) and Hornsby Bend Bird Observatory (1999). Former Executive Director of the Travis Audubon Society (2001-2003) and Senior Scientist for Urban Bird Conservation at National Audubon (2004-2009). Also research human/bird interactions among various Mayan language groups in Guatemala, Mexico, and Belize. Have taught geography and environmental studies courses at Rosemont College, Rowan University, and East Stroudsburg University. Currently teaching at Northampton Community College. Just moved from Hunterdon Co, NJ to Wallingford, PA.
Rob is the president of the Birding Club of Delaware County (2018-2021) and current Delaware County Big Year record holder (260 species in 2020)
