I've been a backyard birder for as long as we've lived in our house. I'd like to get more into birding to learn more about birds, appreciate nature, and spend more time outdoors. I'm retired (but not from life!), and I've found that in these times, nothing relieves stress more than getting outside for fresh air and a look at the natural world. The more I know about what I'm observing, the more I appreciate and enjoy it. I live 10" from Black Run Preserve here in NJ, and there are several decent birding spots within an easy 40" drive from my house. I'm looking forward to meeting other birders once DVOC resumes its birding trips.
