The beach-goers and tourists are unaware that the birds consider August to be “autumn”. As the birds start their southbound journeys, they pass through Cape May as early as July! Higbee beach can be very good in August for early migrants including many warbler species, cuckoos, and masses of Eastern Kingbirds, passing Bobolinks and others.
We will meet in the main parking lot and bird the fields, head out to the beach to look for shorebirds and sea birds. BRING BUG REPELLENT and water/snacks.
