DVOC’s Raven LunaChicks competed in the 40th annual World Series of Birding where we covered the full state of NJ in 24 hours of mad dash birding. We started in the Great Swamp at midnight, made our way through High Point and Stokes State Forests, Wantage and Layton grasslands, Forysthe NWR, Belleplain and Cape May point. We endured rain and a flat tire and ended the day with 168 birds placing 7th out of 15 teams. Debbie Beer , Patty Rehn and Lori Gladulich are so much fun to have on our team. And Ken Walsh , Marc Chelemer and Cliff Miller from team 1,000 Birds were great to share information and laugh with throughout the week.
While all of this is great fun, we hope to also raise money for DVOC’s causes. If you want to support our efforts, please go to https://www.paypal.com/donate/… and support your favorite cause.
