Palmyra Cove – September 11th 2016 – Field Trip Report

Well, the trip for migrants at Palmyra this morning didn’t get a good weather front coming through – the front has cleared this late afternoon. I was watching the radar – it was lit up behind the front! Not much in front of the frontal boundary. We had to work for our birds, but we had some highlights – a Red-breasted Nuthatch was seen well – it is shaping up to be a great year for this species! We hit a couple flocks in the open Willow Woods – One we worked well, the other was deeper in. Buskwacking is needed here. We ended up with 53 species.

Thanks to my hardy participants! It was still muggy and 80 degrees at 7:00am when we started.
